With the advanced growth of electrical utility in power systems, the study of machines has assumed a very high status for good understanding and application. The generation apparatus have become diversified in nature with various characteristics both in AC & DC. The transmission system needs a greater perspective of transformers in sending and receiving side. The load side has become highly complicated by multi applications of industrial motors and commercial motors in both AC and DC. Thus a good base is needed for the study of machines from third semester onwards to fifth semester in detail. It is felt that a good orientation with this objective will pave the way for the teachers / participants of the seminar to deliver their goods.

Hence this course provides an avenue for the Lecturers who would like to teach this subject, to get a quick overview of the subject as well as hear from Experts and industrialist in the area of Electrical Machines.
