Modern automotive industries need experts in vehicle design and manufacture. With this in mind, the Department of Automobile Engineering was established in 1999 to train students in the area of automotive engineering. Since Tamil Nadu is the automobile hub of India, with Ford, Hyundai, BMW, Ashok Leyland and others, this course gains significance for those who are passionate about automobiles.
