• The department has highly qualified, well experienced and dedicated faculty of 15 members with One Professor & Head, a Professor, an Associate Professor and 13 Assistant Professors. HOD is a Doctorate with specialization in “Differential Equations” and another member is pursuing Ph.D Degree in the field of “ Algebra”.
• The department has two spacious staff rooms. Apart from imparting good Mathematical knowledge and skills to the students, the department also concentrating in Research. A Computer room with two computers are provided for research and developmental activities.
• To create interest in research among the faculty members, the department is aiming to conduct conferences, seminars and workshops at regular intervals.
The department caters at present to the teaching needs of the undergraduate engineering students, M.C.A. students & M.E. students.
CSIR and DRDO sponsored National Seminar on “Mathematical Modeling, Approximate Analytical and Numerical Methods” was conducted on 27th and 28th December 2012- Chief Guest: Dr.S.Sundar, Professor ,IIT M –Chennai
The celebration of 125th birth anniversary of Sri. Srinivasa Ramanujan, a series of competitions in Mathematics – “Math Carnival” were conducted during October 2012 and the valedictory function was conducted on 19.10.2012.-Chief Guest: Dr.A.V.Ramprasad.Principal,KLNCE

Founders Day Celebrations 2024 – ONLINE Quiz Contest
We, the KLNCEians, celebrate every year our Founder President’s birth anniversary which falls on 1st January, in a grand manner under Corporate Social Responsibility theme. As a part of it, since 2014, the Department of Mathematics has been conducting an awareness programme among the plus two students about the importance of higher secondary Mathematics, in Engineering. As part of it, Online quiz contest was conducted to the plus two students of various schools in Madurai District. The Program was headed by Dr.J.K.Subashini.,Prof & HOD, (Convener) & assisted by Dr.R.Selvarani/ASP2 & Dr.S.Sabarinathan/ASP2 (Co convener).

KLNCESHA & IIPC(2023 -2024)
Under the auspices of our college Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) and Science & Humanities Association (KLNCESHA), a scientific model contest in the name “TECHNOZARE 2K24” was conducted on 15.03.2024.
Nearly 78 teams, per team three members inter/intra departments have registered for this event.
All the teams displayed their models at Indoor Stadium.
All the first year students (Non-participants) visited the models from 10.00 am to 1.30 p.m

World Mathematics Day Academic Year 2020-2021
“World Mathematics Day” falls on 5thMay and to celebrate the same, Maths department conducted a quiz contest for our first year B.E/B. Tech students. Topic for the quiz was “General and First Semester Maths”
To carry out the above task, a team of staff members of the Department of Mathematics prepared Multiple Choice Questions and created a online quiz link. Preliminary online quiz was conducted on 04.05.2021 and totally 69 students were participated.
Dr. J. K Subashini, H.O.D/ Maths KLNCE & S. Nagammai HOD / EIE, Academic Coordinator KLNCE were the internal resource person for the event.
Finally top 5 students were selected for the final round.
