INSTITUTION’S INNOVATION COUNCIL (IIC)
In the year 2018, the Ministry of Education (MoE) through MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) launched the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) program in collaboration with AICTE for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to systematically foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem in education institutions.
Primarily, IICs’ role is to engage large number of faculty, students and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities such as ideation, Problem solving, Proof of Concept development, Design Thinking, IPR, project handling and management at Pre-incubation/Incubation stage, etc., so that innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem gets established and stabilized in HEIs.
IIC-KLNCE
In 2019-20 (IIC 2.0), IIC-KLNCE was set-up and many more activities were conducted. Also, in 2020-21 (IIC 3.0) we have conducted many activities under the category of MIC calendar activities, celebration activities, self driven activities etc in the quarter 1,2,3and 4.
Based on the programs conducted and documents uploaded into the IIC portal the star ratings have been awarded. We have secured one star rating for the year of 2020-21(IIC 3.0) and have secured two star rating for the year of 2021-22 (IIC 4.0). In 2022-23(IIC 5.0) and 2023-24(IIC 6.0) we have secured single and Double star respectively.

Outcome of IIC-KLNCE:
We have cultivated the innovative ideas in the students by conducting various activities like smart India Hackhathon, Problem solving sessions, Project contest, Exhibition with poster presentation, Drawing competition, Motivational sessions. In a result, many students have thought about the idea of entrepreneurship and Start-up.
Also, students have learnt the way of facing the problems and challenges when they going to start the start ups for successful entrepreneur in future.
Because of Such type of activities, our College EEE department students have achieved a mile stone by receiving the winner award of Rs 50,000/- in the smart India Hackhathon (SIH-2024) held at Vishakapatnam, Andhra state.
