About NSS

National Service Scheme, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was launched in Gandhiji's Birth Centenary Year 1969, in 37 Universities involving 40,000 students with primary focus on the development of personality of students through Social Service. The NSS volunteers are required to involve in Social Service activities, camps and special campaign activities. The National Service Scheme was started in our college from the academic year 1997-98. The First NSS activity was inaugurated by our beloved founder president Thiru. K.L.N. Krishnan on 03rd December 1997.

The motto or slogan of the National Service Scheme is 'NOT ME BUT YOU’. This reflects the essence of democratic living, upholds the need for selfless service, appreciation of the other person's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. Therefore, it should be the aim of the NSS to demonstrate this motto in its day-to-day program and the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society.
